Risk disclaimer

Last updated 30 September 2026

Please read this disclaimer before using the services of fxapis, operated by El Wizard (business ID 207370523), Jacó, Puntarenas 61101, Costa Rica (“fxapis”). It forms part of our Terms of service.

1. Trading risk

Trading foreign exchange, contracts for difference, metals, indices, cryptocurrencies and other leveraged instruments is highly speculative and carries a high level of risk. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains; a small price movement can cause losses larger than the margin deposited, and, depending on your broker's terms, larger than your account balance. Prices can move sharply and gap over stop-loss levels, and markets can become illiquid or close. You should trade only with money you can afford to lose, understand how the instruments work, and consider seeking advice from an independent, appropriately licensed adviser.

Past performance — including any performance of a strategy, signal or account you see or build using fxapis — does not indicate future results. Results shown in back-tests, demo accounts or simulations are hypothetical and do not reflect real execution, slippage, fees or the emotional and financial realities of trading.

2. No advice, no broker, no custody

  • fxapis provides software infrastructure that transmits instructions to MetaTrader 5 accounts. Nothing on our websites, in our documentation, examples, console or communications is investment, financial, legal, tax or other advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell any instrument.
  • fxapis is not a broker, dealer, investment firm, portfolio manager, exchange or payment institution, and is not authorised or regulated by any financial regulator for such activities. We do not execute trades, set prices, act as counterparty, or hold client money or assets. Your broker does, under its own authorisation and terms.
  • Examples in our documentation — symbols, volumes, prices, stop levels and strategies such as signals or copy trading — illustrate how the API works. They are not suggestions to trade.

3. Technology and execution risk

Trading through any API or automated system carries risks beyond those of trading by hand, including:

  • errors in your software, strategy or configuration, which can place unintended, repeated or oversized orders very quickly;
  • failures or delays in internet connections, your systems, our systems, hosting providers, the MetaTrader platform or your broker, which can delay, prevent or duplicate orders, or leave their outcome temporarily unknown;
  • broker actions: rejections, requotes, slippage, partial fills, changes to leverage, margin, trading hours, symbols or terms, and stop-outs;
  • orders sent to many accounts at once filling at different prices or not at all;
  • an account taking time to come online, being disconnected, or needing its credentials to be fixed before it can trade.

We design fxapis to reduce these risks — recording every order's outcome, confirming uncertain results with the broker, refusing duplicate orders sent with the same idempotency key, and never blocking a close for billing reasons — but no system can eliminate them. Performance figures we publish are measurements under particular conditions, not guarantees. You should monitor your accounts, set protective stops at your broker, test with demo accounts before trading real money, and have a plan for when systems fail.

4. Your responsibility

  • You are solely responsible for every order sent with your credentials and for its consequences.
  • You are responsible for having the right to operate every account you connect, for complying with your broker's terms, and for obtaining any licence, registration or consent required to trade for yourself or others where you and they are located.
  • If you offer signals, copy trading, account management or any other service to others using fxapis, you are responsible for what you tell them, for the risks you expose them to, and for the regulation that applies to your service.
  • Trading may be restricted or prohibited in some countries. It is your responsibility to check before you trade.

5. Third parties

MetaTrader and MetaTrader 5 are trademarks of MetaQuotes Ltd. fxapis is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by MetaQuotes or by any broker. Brokers, payment providers and other third parties operate under their own terms and policies, for which fxapis is not responsible. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, fxapis is not liable for any trading loss, lost profit or opportunity, or other loss arising from your use of the Service, from market movements, or from the acts or omissions of brokers or other third parties. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of service.
